It was founded in 2008 by students of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) –Faculty of Mechanical Engineering– who were willing to exceed their knowledge and skills in designing and constructing a race car. Within months of its foundation Prom Racing Team managed to classify First in Class3 event of Formula SAE competition in Italy. Next goal of the team would be manufacturing a competitive car and participate in Class1 of Formula SAE and Formula Student competitions.

In 2011, Prom Racing’s first car got the green light to participate in Formula Student Hungary and Formula SAE Italy competitions. The outcome was rather rewarding especially in Hungary where the team won the Cost and Manufacturing Award among 30 other teams.

Years 2012 till 2014 were transitional for our team.

In 2015, we decided to participate again with a completely different form. New members joined the team and we worked as a newcomer trying to achieve the best possible results. The outcome was quite successful, as we managed to manufacture a brand new racing car and participate in 2016 Formula Student Czech Republic event. The experience was amazing and the comments we received totally encouraging.

In 2016-2017, Prom Racing carried out a recruitment. Both the new and the old members are working with great enthusiasm and passion aiming to participate in the 2017 FSAE and Formula Student events. We’ve raised our expectations and we are really looking forward to represent the Greek colors as good as we can!
